A World-Class Business Gateway Hub Located on the Atlantic Shore.

The Vision

The Global Enterprise Zone is a sustainable development project utilising  world leading technology. The project is designed to support the demand  for an international business hub located within West Africa. It has been  developed in partnership with technology and outsourcing companies  from the Indian sub-continent, Europe and the government of The Gambia.

 

 

 

 

 

  The Country

The Gambia is country located on the west coast of Africa, famous for its pristine
beaches and eco-tourism. The country is a favoured location for European
tourists due its safe, low crime and relaxed atmosphere.
The Gambia is an English speaking stable democracy offering a convenient location
for international businesses wishing to be located in the same time zone as London
but with significant cost advantages.

In fact the country is often referred to as the Switzerland of Africa due its remarkable stability over the last 30 years.

 

 

Outsourcing Hub

The rapid development of The Gambia has been identified as a key priority by the government of The Gambia as part of the strategy defined by President H.E. Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh in his Vision 2020 to develop a mixed economy and create local jobs for Gambian Nationals.

As part of its national development plan Vision 2020, the government has committed itself to establishing a world class business hub to act as gateway for global enterprises to gain access to a continent which is experiencing rapid economic growth.

The Enterprise Zones have been identified as a key channel to progress the aims of the Government.

The aim of the Enterprise Zone is to establish The Gambia as a viable outsourcing hub. Extensive consultation was undertaken with significant outsourcing providers in the Indian Sub-Continent and Europe as a result a legal and technical infrastructure was devised to attract FDI.

 

 

 

Construction

The Global Enterprise Decree 2013 established the ICommerce Registry as the agency to undertake the development of the Enterprise Zone.

Infini Africa Group and the Government of The Gambia signed an agreement for the development of the enterprise zones in May 2013.

Since the signing of the agreement rapid progress has been made. Infini has developed and delivered the a cloud based e-government system. The online portal supports the operations of the iCommerce Registry.

The Government’s decision to invest in a cloud based E-Government system has allowed The Gambia to leap frog other leading business hubs and placed it in the enviable position of being the easiest place in the world to start a business.

The First Global Enterprise Zone is located adjacent to the modern international airport in a secure, gated business community covering 5 kilometres.

 

 

 

Document Verifications System

It is the intention of the Global Enterprise Zone that at least  90% of the businesses registered in the Zone will only have a virtual presence, and will have access to the outsourcing services provided by companies established in the Enterprise Zone

The Portal has implemented all the best practices in term of compliance, due diligence and anti-money laundering measures but has enabled them with such efficiency that they are not burdensome as in many jurisdictions which rely on paper based systems

Since the launch of the zone a global campaign has attracted interest from businesses worldwide and the current strategic plan for the Enterprise Zone includes the following elements:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Server Data Centre

A Tier 3 data centre providing 20,000 Sq Metres dedicated server hosting facilities.

The site will provide 2N+1 redundant power systems and power feeds up to 10Kw per racks

The modular design and development will enable support for varied customer requirements yet maximise efficiency.

 

 

Global Outsourcing Centre

The Gambia is an English speaking country and has become attractive to global outsourcing providers for this reason. Global outsourcing companies from the Indian Sub-Continent setting up in the Zone are expected to provide approximately 25,000 seats for provision of outsourcing services over the next 18 months. The easy availability of Visas and tax incentives will continue to attract companies from other regions including Europe and the Americas.

 

 

 

 

Office Space

To support the continued development of the zone there are already plans to develop over 1.5 Million square feet of office space which will be available for new tenants over the next 18 months.

 

 

 

 

Retail Space

Over 1 million square feet of retail space is being delivered for use by occupiers over the next 18 Months. Many of the traditional names found in most shopping malls and districts will provide the foundation but it is anticipated that local Gambian retailers will add a local touch and service to the cosmopolitan clientele.

 

 

 

 

Hotels & Resorts

International hotel and casino groups with multi-faceted resort projects will provide over 5,000 hotel rooms to service the visitors to the gated business community and to support the conference centre and education seminars.

 

 

 

 

 

Residential Developments

Private developers are anticipated to develop up to 6,000 residential apartment complexes with many including upscale Penthouse and luxury accommodation in the mix.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Media Studios

The construction of the largest media studios in Africa covering an area of over 100,000 Sq ft incorporating stages for filming and special effects will be delivered by 3rd quarter 2014.

 

 

 

 

Logistics Space

Over 1.5 million sq feet of warehouse space has been reserved for logistic operations to support the aim of the Global Enterprise Zone to act as a re-exporting centre for West Africa

 

 

 

 

 

Development Land

There is over 200 hectares of development land available for various uses subject to the requirement of the developer
